The island of Zanzibar, located just off the coast of Tanzania, Africa, is one of a kind for its unique way of offering so much more than white sandy beaches. The island has rich history, culture, natural beauty, architecture, artisan craft, fashion markets, religious sites and year round wildlife spotting.
The South-East coast of the island is most famous for its white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Away from the hustle and bustle, is the village of Jambiani, rooted in local tradition, it is the perfect destination for those seeking harmony, peace, and tranquillity in a delightfully picturesque environment.
After visiting many parts of this beautiful island we found Jambiani stood out as the perfect destination for our retreat.
Welcome to paradise!
After falling in love with Zanzibar on holiday in September 2024, we felt called to host a yoga retreat on this paradise island! We would love for you to join us and experience all that the island has to offer alongside a wellbeing programme of yoga, meditation and holistic workshops. You will come away feeling healthy, inspired, relaxed and rejuvenated.
Hakuna Matata is the Swahili phrase which translates as "no worries, no problems". You'll hear this everywhere you go on the Island and this really sums up the attitude and rhythm of life on Zanzibar. Life is slow paced and stress free. The people are warm and welcoming, the food delicious and the setting absolutely stunning! All these ingredients provide the perfect recipe for the ultimate Yoga retreat.
We are two experienced and passionate yoga teachers who love to travel and will be on hand to look after you and guide you through daily practices. With years of experience hosting retreats and trips abroad, you can rest assured your well being will be in good hands.
Nestled in an idyllic location that whispers tranquillity, our retreat is a haven for those seeking to reconnect with their inner selves through yoga, relaxation, exploration and the healing power of nature.
There will be a carefully curated programme of Yoga and Wellbeing practices each day, providing an opportunity to go deeper into your practice. You will have the benefit of two teachers, with their own unique teaching styles and areas of expertise, bringing much richness and variation to the programme. Each session is designed to be suitable for all levels with variations offered, ensuring a personal and empowering experience.
Through the week you will experience both Yang (active, dynamic) and Yin (restorative, meditative) sessions. The Yang practices, such as Sun Salutations, will energise, strengthen, stretch, and balance the body and mind. The late afternoon sessions will be deeply nourishing, gentle and grounding with practices such as Restorative Yin Yoga, Sound healing, and Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep).
We will explore simple, yet powerful meditation and mindfulness techniques to cultivate greater inner peace and clarity. Guests will takeaway tools and techniques to continue their self-care journey and to deal with the inevitable trials of the modern world.
The programme will incorporate different styles of Yoga, such as Kemetic, Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin, as well as Somatic Movement.
